The garage drain takes water off the slab: wash water, melt, rain that comes in the door. A garage sump, when there is one, pumps that water out of the low point. It is not the French drain along the walls. If water sits on the slab, we clear the garage drain. Estimate over the phone.
Slab and walls
Puddle on the concrete, slow grate: garage drain. Mildewed wall, water along the foundation: French drain. We do not treat them as the same system. See clean a French drain if the water comes from the walls.
Sump
The sump collects water at the lowest point, then pumps it. A sump that cycles without stopping may be drinking a clogged slab drain, or a high water table. We clear the grate and the line under the slab first. We do not open the pump to replace it on this visit.
Leaves, sand, and salt
Melt pushes sand and salt toward the grate. Leaves follow in the fall. Chemicals do not dissolve that. Mechanical clearing. If the garage line ties into a French drain, we say so after we see the flow. Camera estimated separately.
